Cruise with Emil Johansson in mountain biking bliss

Emil Johansson and Martin Söderström serve up a visual and aural treat

Red Bull’s “Sound of Speed” series is extreme sports ASMR. Unlike a lot of athlete showcases, the videos feature little production and no music — nothing to distract you from the sounds of bikes rattling and dirt being sliced.

Recently, Emil Johansson teamed up with fellow Swede and slopestyle legend Martin Söderström for their own “Sound of Speed” video at Järvsö Bike Park. Press play and close your eyes; their ride seems almost peaceful.

Then open your eyes because the video’s pretty sick.

According to Johansson, the idea to collaborate came when he and Söderström were riding together at a park. Several months later, he found out that Söderström had been talking to Red Bull to make the team-up happen.

“Martin was someone I looked up to growing up,” Johansson said. “He was the big Swede. And so it was really fun to be able to do this with him.”

The Emil and Martin collaboration was months in the making

Together, they produced a work of art. Do yourself a favor and take two and a half minutes to enjoy some mountain biking bliss.
