Everything you need to know about the 2026 Trek Driftless gravel season

This squad is deeper than ever

The Trek Driftless squad is rolling five-deep for 2026! Torbjørn “Toby” Andre Røed and Paige Onweller are back to fight for wins and the top of the overall standings on the Life Time Grand Prix circuit. They’re being joined by feisty newcomers in Daxton Mock, Cécile Lejeune, and Cobe Freeburn.

Trek’s all-surface program is ready for adventure. Here’s everything you need to follow along.

Paige is battling back to be stronger than ever off of injury.

Toby's got podiums on the mind.

Who's coming back?

Torbjørn “Toby” Andre Røed is coming off his best season yet as a gravel racer, finishing third overall on the Life Time Grand Prix standings. His season included a third-place finish at Unbound Gravel, as well as fourth-place finishes at the Leadville 100 and Chequamegon 40. Toby is a pure diesel engine with a knack for emptying every last drop in the tank … and somehow looking like he’s having fun doing it. Follow Toby on Instagram.

Paige Onweller has one of the more improbable stories in gravel. Four years ago, she was working full time as a physician’s assistant. She put that career on pause to become a full-time racer after discovering that she could throw down watts with the best of them. In 2024 she finished third overall on the Life Time Grand Prix circuit, but was dealt a bad hand of injuries in 2025. Top 10 finishes at Sea Otter, Leadville, and Unbound are nothing to sneeze at, however. The comeback is going to be sweet. Follow Paige on Instagram.

Daxton knows his way around Trek already.

Cécile already is right at home with her new kit and bike.

Who are the newbies?

Glad you asked! We have in-depth profiles of all three of our new riders on Driftless.

Daxton Mock — Daxton was a part of Trek long before he became one of Trek Driftless’ newest riders — before he was born, in fact. His parents, Aaron and Kathy, are former Trek employees. Dax helped maintain the Trek Trails system outside of headquarters as a high school gig. He’s been inside the walls, he knows the employees. As major promotions go, his seems like a relatively easy transition. … “I’ve been following the race scene, especially the Trek race scene, since I was like five years old,” Mock says. “I remember running around at Nationals, doing all this stuff, meeting all these cool pros.” Read the full story | Follow Dax on Instagram.

Daxton and Cécile are rocking a sweet custom kit — designed by Trek, stitched by Santini, and inspired by Topo Designs. Click to explore our team apparel and order your own!

Cécile Lejeune Cécile has always been comfortable with the unknown. She describes her initial move to the United States as an act of what the French call dépaysement, a word that has no direct English equivalent, but refers to a deliberate un-countrifying or un-mooring of oneself to feel new things, feel lost, and find yourself again. … She heard about gravel racing in the U.S., and moved back to Arizona in 2024. She took on three gravel races that year — including Oregon Trail Gravel, where she won three of five stages and the general classification — and was hooked. Cobe Freeburn — Cobe knows a good thing when he sees it. He’s been on an upward trajectory seemingly every year of his young racing career, first coming up in mountain bike racing with Bear National Team, progressing as a gravel racer with the squad in 2023 and 2024, then having his best season yet as a privateer in 2025. The Durango native won Bighorn Gravel and took third in a stacked field at SBT GRVL. Now with Driftless, he’s landed in another strong support system where he’s confident he can continue to grow. … “It’s a good atmosphere. Everyone knows that they’re there to race, but they also want to have fun doing it. It’s a well-oiled machine.” Read the full story | Follow Cobe on Instagram.

Cobe sees big things in his future.

Where are they racing?

The great thing about being an adventure racer is that racing wherever, whenever is kinda the point. So don’t be surprised to see Driftless riders all over the globe in 2026. Past destinations for Driftless riders include Cape Epic in South Africa, the Transcordilleras in Colombia, the Safari Gravel Race in Kenya, The Traka in Spain, and The Rift in Iceland.

That said, there are a few key races to mark on your calendar.

  • Midsouth Gravel – March 13 – The traditional season opener on the red dirt around Stillwater, Okla. Possibly the best party all year.
  • Sea Otter Classic – April 16 – The first stop on the Life Time Grand Prix, and one of the world’s largest MTB festivals in Monterey, Calif.
  • Unbound Gravel – May 30 – Stop No. 2 on the Life Time Grand Prix, and inarguably the biggest race on the calendar — 200 miles of unpredictable conditions around Emporia, Kans.
  • SBT GRVL – June 28 – Major elevation around Steamboat Springs, Colo. Big, tough, and beautiful.
  • Leadville Trail 100 MTB – August 15 – Stop No. 3 on the Life Time Grand Prix, and one of the meanest races of the year at high altitude in Colorado.
  • Chequamegon 40 MTB – September 19 – Hello Wisconsin! Stop No. 4 of the Life Time Grand Prix is a blast up in Northwoods
  • Little Sugar – October 11 – Pt. 1 of a two-weekend finale to the Life Time Grand Prix. It’s the 100k MTB “little” sibling (it’s very hard) around Bentonville, Ark.
  • Big Sugar – October 17 The grand finale … 100-mile gravel race around Bentonville to finalize (and often decide) the Life Time Grand Prix winners.

If you haven’t followed the riders above, that’s silly, go back up and do that. And follow Trek Driftless while you’re at it. We’ll have bike checks, race reports, and check-ins from the crew throughout the season, no matter where they are in the world. It’s going to be an incredible ride.
