Jon Aberasturi sprinted to third place on the second stage of Vuelta a San Juan
With another bunch sprint on the cards, it was no surprise that the day’s most exciting action in Argentina came in the final kilometers of the race.
Aberasturi produced a smart and powerful sprint to move through the field and claim third on the line behind stage winner, Fabio Jakobsen (Soudal – Quick Step).

“It was a long and very hot stage. We rode in front almost all day and in the end, Quinn and Mattias were able to help to go a little further. It was a very fast sprint where I was able to progress positions until reaching 3rd place. I am happy with my performance especially with this being the first sprint that I could properly compete for this year.”
