Felline set to assume role of road captain upon return to Lidl-Trek
Lidl-Trek is thrilled to announce the return of Fabio Felline, who previously represented the Team for six seasons between 2014 and 2019. Upon his return to Lidl-Trek, Felline will assume the role of road captain and is relishing the chance to pass on his 14 years of professional experience to the next wave of Lidl-Trek talent.
“I feel this return as a homecoming,” expressed Fabio Felline, reflecting on his return into the Lidl-Trek fold. “The bond with this Team, with this group of people, however, has never been broken, especially on a personal level. When the option to return came up, it was a pleasant surprise and I immediately said yes. At this point in my career, the opportunity to come back here was the best thing that could have happened to me.”
As Fabio moves onto this new chapter of his career, he is determined to help the younger generation of riders along the way. “I will bring my wealth of experience to the youngsters. I will try to be a team man, to consolidate the spirit that characterizes this group, also in the light of the many new riders that will come. I feel I can still give a lot in the race to support the leaders, without preventing any opportunity to contribute with results. I am highly motivated to live this season to my full potential.”
“What stimulates me most, what attracts me thinking about this new adventure, is definitely the ambition that Lidl-Trek has. In short, I can’t wait to reconnect with my past and give my best contribution to help the Team grow.”
Luca Guercilena, General Manager of Lidl-Trek, welcomed Fabio Felline back to the Team. “It is a pleasure for us to have Fabio back in the Lidl-Trek family. He formed deep connections with the staff and riders during his six years with the Team, many of whom are still in the Team. This time around, Fabio’s role within the Team will be different. He will act as a road captain, using his experience to manage situations inside the race. With a familiar environment and an ambitious project as motivation, we hope to see Fabio deliver his best for us.”
