Lauretta Hanson extends with Lidl-Trek through 2025

28-year-old Lauretta Hanson, who has been on the USA-registered UCI Women’s WorldTour team since its inception five years ago, will continue to lend a helping hand to her teammates as one of Lidl-Trek’s most important support riders for two more seasons.

2023 was a difficult year for Hanson due to a crash at Danilith Nokere Koerse in March, which forced her out of the Classics season. Despite this, she still enjoyed one of her best individual season seasons in her role as a key domestique for Lidl-Trek, contributing to some of the Team’s best results this year.

It was an easy decision to renew with Lidl-Trek for another two years and I’m really happy to be staying on as part of this wonderful group of riders. We have a great environment and fantastic support here and I really feel like I’ve found my home in this team. I had my best season yet in 2023 and I’m looking forward to building on that and pushing for more in the coming seasons - Lauretta Hanson

For Lidl-Trek Sports Director, Ina-Yoko Teutenberg, it was also a natural decision to continue working with the Australian rider;

“Lauretta has become an important part of the Lidl-Trek women’s team since joining us in 2019. She is always open to learning and developing further as a rider and I think we have seen her do that, particularly this year which, at times, wasn’t the easiest for her with crashes and injuries. This has made her an even stronger athlete and an invaluable teammate, so it only made sense to continue working with her. Lauretta is someone who we can count on to do the hard work for our team leaders when it is needed, and I believe there is still a lot more to come from her here.”
