Julien Bernard and Jacopo Mosca sign two-year contract extensions

Two more years for two of our most loyal domestiques

Lidl-Trek is happy to announce that Julien Bernard and Jacopo Mosca have signed contract extensions which will see them race for Lidl-Trek through 2025. The pair have been with the American WorldTour team since 2016 and 2019 respectively, during which time they have contributed to many team victories, as well as a personal victory for Bernard atop Mont Faron in 2020.

“This contract will see me spend 10 years of my career together with this Team. I’ve said it before but in 2015 Luca and the Team gave me my chance and believed in me, and so far, step by step, they have helped to build me into the rider I am now. I have seen the Team improving every year until reaching our best season so far, this year. Of course, I am so proud to continue two more years with Lidl-Trek and to be part of this new era. I am convinced that the best remains ahead of us, and as always, I am motivated to give 100% of myself to help the Team achieve these new objectives.”

Jacopo Mosca

“For me, there was no doubt about staying with the Team. I spoke to Luca [Guercilena] early in the season and we were able to come to an agreement in two minutes. I’m really proud to continue riding for the Team because they gave me the confidence already four years ago when they signed me, and I have really found my place in this Team. I can’t wait to continue improving and see what I can do for the next years. I’m happy to be working for the Team and to help our leaders at whatever race we’re at. I’d always like to take a win, but for me this is not the main goal. I want to improve so that I can help my teammates even more.”

Luca Guercilena, Lidl-Trek General Manager

“Julien and Jacopo are both incredibly loyal and selfless teammates who have given so much to the Team over the years. The qualities for a successful domestique are as much about the mindset as it is about the legs, and these two riders have shown they have both. It’s a pleasure to be able to keep Julien and Jacopo with Lidl-Trek as we begin this new chapter.”
