Final thoughts from the overall race winner 🎤
It was a really tough race today. Yesterday was also a really hard race and I think a lot of guys, they got the bill today and again, it was proper racing in the last 50km so it, was definitely a really hard Lidl Deutschland Tour but we are just happy and proud that we could honor Lidl this much, winning every stage and the overall GC.

When we saw the squad that was coming here we knew the goals would be big and that one stage wasn't enough, we needed to win everything we could and we delivered and I think the Team and Lidl are happy.
It's always nice to win a races and also GC and I am super happy to have another overall victory this year. It's nice and shows that after a hard time since the Tour and Olympics that the shape is still there so bring on the rest of the season.
The plan today was really dependent on the way the race developed and the condition but the most important thing was to keep the GC and I was also racing for that in the last kilometers to keep it together. You know maybe one guy attacks and he is the one who is on 25 second but it is hard to know when the attacks keep going so, I actually just wanted it to be together for the sprint at then hope for the best and luckily it was enough today.

In cycling you don't win alone, you win as a team, and especially you don't win without guys like Amanuel and Daan Hoole in these days, who are doing a lot of kilometers at the front and who have harder days than us. I think, we, as leaders, need to give them all our deepest respects. They also work hard at home, they also do their training hours but in the end, we are the guys who are winning and not everyone is seeing the work they do. That he was on the podium to get this honor is nice for him, but also for us to see a race like this taking care of that. Amanuel really deserved it and even though he doesn't like the attention, we were happy to see it.
