Preview: Chasing our Sixth Straight Victory at Trofeo Alfredo Binda 🚴‍♀️🏆

After five consecutive victories at this race, we return to the Italian classic aiming to continue our remarkable winning streak on the roads around Cittiglio 🚴‍♀️

As the team returns to northern Italy for the prestigious Trofeo Alfredo Binda, we line up with confidence and ambition for one of the most important early-season classics on the calendar. Held on the rolling roads around Cittiglio, the race traditionally delivers aggressive racing, with repeated climbs gradually wearing down the peloton before the decisive finale. The combination of the Orino climb and the technical run-in toward the finish has often proven selective, rewarding riders who can handle the repeated accelerations in the closing kilometres.

We arrive with a remarkable record in the race, having claimed victory in each of the last five editions. Elisa Longo Borghini soloed home in 2021, while Elisa Balsamo took the honours in 2022, 2024 and in last years 2025 edition. The 2023 edition was won by Shirin Van Anrooij, who will be back this year to try keep the winning streak alive. Shirin will be joined by Ricarda Bauernfeind, Niamh Fisher Black, Isabella Holmgren, Riejanne Markus and 2019 runner-up Amanda Spratt.

Shirin had this to say..

Binda is such an aggressive race each year. It's always either been a solo rider or a very reduced bunch sprint so I'm hoping that it'll be another hard race and the fact it's a long race too is even better. We had Elisa Balsamo with us in the previous years, always having her for the sprint, so we'll definefly miss her here but it just means that we'll have to race even more aggressively and try get in the breakaway or go solo and fight for the win.

That history brings both confidence and expectation as the team looks to once again play a decisive role in the race. The squad will aim to remain attentive in the early phases, covering dangerous moves and conserving energy before the race reaches its critical circuits. With a demanding course that often splits the peloton into smaller groups, timing and teamwork will be essential. Whether the race is decided by a late attack on the climbs or a reduced sprint in Cittiglio, the team will be aiming to once again animate the race and fight for the victory as we chase a sixth consecutive triumph at this iconic Italian classic.
