Jolanda Neff and Evie Richards continue their podium hunts

The World Cup circus traveled to beautiful Val di Sole, Italy this past weekend for some fun in the sun. Poetically, the rains came in strong and fast making the racing more of wet affair. After a muddy and wild short track race on Friday, Sunday’s main event ended up being a dry one. It was a strong showing for Evie Richards in the U-23 race, with a another stellar second place finish. For the elite women, it would be Jolanda in second, and Emily Batty in 39th. Anton Cooper is making a strong resurgence from illness, and scored a strong 13th place.

It's been a consistent battle this year for Evie, fighting a similar group of names for the win

Second place on the day

I am so happy to get 2nd place in Val Di sole World Cup, "said Evie Richards. "I felt really flat when I got home after the last World Cups, and lost a bit of confidence because I had been feeling so tired on the bike, but with a bit of rest leading into the race I was feeling strong and excited to go on Sunday! The course was so exciting with lots of cool features which made it challenging when I got on first course practice. I was super proud that by race day I felt confident on all the descents as I haven’t done much jumping since my surgery, so it was a big achievement for me to push my self in this area. I had the most amazing week in the sunshine with the team and my auntie and uncle who came to watch, and we are all very excited to arrive in Lenzerheide

Congrats Evie!
