NEW PAINT DAY: Up close with TFR XC’s new *real smoke* scheme

Smoke 'em if you got 'em

The Trek Factory Racing XC squad is getting a glow-up for the 2023 season.

An exciting new rider in Gwendalyn Gibson joining an already tight-knit core? Yep. A slick new kit that you can buy right now? That too. Fresh coat of paint to tie it all together? Oh heck yeah.

Below, feast your eyes on the new smoky scheme, which uses actual smoke to achieve the effect. According to Trek graphic designer Tim Reddington: “The smoke scheme is created using a primitive technique that involves rotating a frame over an open fire and catching the smoke like a perfectly charred rotisserie chicken.”

Here’s some smoke you’ll want to get in your eye:

Mesmerizing.

Smoke in every nook and cranny.

New paint, same awesome performance.

The new paint scheme is literally fire.

The squad is seven riders strong and ready for big things.

Weapon of choice.

Stay tuned to the Trek Racing website and Trek Factory Racing XC Instagram for more on this year’s squad in the coming days and weeks. There are still four months to go until the first World Cup race of the year in Lenzerheide, but we’ll have plenty of content to keep you busy in the mean time.
