Rachel Atherton wins in Lourdes

Rachel Atherton adds to her winning streak in France

The 2017 World Cup DH season is in full swing, and the Trek Factory Racing team picked up right where they left off, on the podium. Rachel Atherton took the win, junior racer Kade Edwards took 5th, with Gee and Graeme taking 10th and 56th, respectively.

Kade Edwards finished his run in 3rd, with several riders yet to come down the hill. Finn Iles and Kaos Seagrave both went faster, pushing Kade into his final, top-5 position.

A tough start to the week could not hold back Rachel Atherton. Struggling with a cold and racing with an exceptionally competitive field made for a tense day of racing, with anyone capable of taking the win. In the end, Rachel made magic happen, taking the win by over 2 seconds.

The men’s race saw no luck this weekend, with the field witnessing rain and wind during their runs. Gee muscled through the best he could securing a 10th place finish. Aussie Graeme Mudd finished in 56th.
