Giro Rosa – stage 1: Watch replay

A TTT to kick things off? Yes please!

The 30th edition of the Giro Rosa started with a bang thanks to a tough and technical team time-trial from Cassano Spinola to Castellania. With hot conditions and two hard climbs, there was little reprieve for riders throughout the 18.8km course. Bigla set the pace early, but ultimately it was reigning World Champions, Canyon-SRAM Racing, that took the victory and put Kasia Niewiadoma into pink heading into stage 2.

Length:  18.8 km / 11.7 miles

Start: Cassano Spinola

Finish: Castellania

Fact of the day: The finish town of Castellania is the home town of Fausto Coppi, "Il Campionissimo" and arguably Italy's most famous cyclist.
