Gaia broke out during her first season with Lidl-Trek in 2023, scoring one-day wins at Trofeo Oro in Euro, Stage 6 of La Vuelta Femenina and Stage 4 of the Tour de l'Avenir Femmes. The Giro d'Italia Donne was arguably her standout performance. Over the course of nine stages, the young Italian rider shined on her native roads and won the youth classification while taking third in the mountains competition and third on GC. Gaia may be one of the most diminutive riders in the peloton, standing just 150cm (4’11”), but she's also one of the mightiest, especially when facing the world's hardest climbs.
