Edward 'Looney' Theuns signed with Trek-Segafredo for 2016-2017 and opted to pen a deal with Team Sunweb the following year, which did not work out for team or rider. They mutually agreed to terminate the contract a year early and when Trek-Segafredo offered a spot on the roster, he didn't hesitate. Eddie's homecoming in 2018 was a happy reunion for both parties. He finished the season with two victories, effectively ending a winless drought of nearly two years. Eddie is a capable sprinter and adept Classics rider who is willing to ride for a teammate as much as himself.  He capitalized on his opportunity in 2021 at the Tour of Hungary, sprinting to the win in Stage 5.  Eddie's down-to-earth demeanor and overall amicable nature is a seamless fit in the Team.
