Scenes from two days of furious racing in Fayetteville, Ark.
The second ever Cyclocross World Championships on American soil has wrapped up, but we’re still buzzing from the action. The course in Fayetteville was tailor-made for exciting finishes and an electric atmosphere from thousands of fans lining the track.
Baloise-Trek came away with four medals in four races — Thibau Nys took bronze in the men’s U23 race, while Lucinda Brand, Lars van der Haar and Shirin van Anrooij took silvers in the women’s elite, men’s elite and women’s U23 races, respectively. All four of those medals came down to sprints. In terms of stakes, intensity and emotion, it’s hard to imagine a better event.
