Rheeder wins French stop of Crankworx Slopestyle, Johansson second
Brett Rheeder and Emil Johansson represented the Trek C3 Project in the Slopestyle event at Crankworx Les Gets. The event went as good as it can go. Brett won the event, and Emil scored the second place finish.
The winning moves came from Brett, who was considered an unknown quantity due to an off season injury. Doubts were unfounded, and a killer run was had by the Canadian phenom.
"Conditions were pretty good aside from a slight head wind on the first two slopestyle features. Had a good run for the most part and stoked to take the win!"
Emil Johansson continues to show he is a rider of the future, and also of right now. The Swede’s run highlighted his incredible technical ability, and talent for squeezing an immense amount into every jump.
"After not landing my first run I was nervous that I not was gonna be able to put it all on the line & make my full run during my second attempt, but I made it happen & I could not be more happy to finish on 2nd place."
The Crankworx event was also highlighted by a whip off win by Casey Brown. Casey’s style continued to show itself in the DH, where she scored a 2nd place.
The team now moves on to Austria, for the third stop of the Crankworx series. Look forward to more high flying from Casey, Brett and Emil in the coming week.
