Edward 'Looney' Theuns signed with Trek-Segafredo back in 2016, but after two years opted to pen a deal with Team Sunweb. The move didn’t feel right for Eddie, so the following year, he was welcomed back to the Trek family with open arms. Eddie's homecoming in 2018 was a happy reunion for both parties. He finished the season with two victories, effectively ending a winless drought of nearly two years. The Belgian is a capable sprinter and adept Classics rider who is willing to ride for a teammate as much as himself. He capitalized on his opportunity in 2021 at the Tour of Hungary, sprinting to the win in Stage 5. Eddie's down-to-earth demeanor and amicable nature is a seamless fit in the Team. Before any racing begins, DJ Looney Theuns has an extra responsibility – psyching up his teammates with a pre-race playlist, which can be found here.
