A rainbow masterpiece: Pro bike build of Mads’ 2021 Émonda SLR

Watch the video of Trek-Segafredo mechanic Gauthier Verdonck building Mads Pedersen's World Champion 2021 Trek Émonda SLR 800.

The new 2021 Émonda is lighter, stiffer, and more aerodynamic and Mads Pedersen is riding it during the hillier stages in the 2020 Tour de France.

Mads rides a 58cm frame weighing in at only 821 grams.  His fully-equipped bike with SRAM Powermeter, two bottle holders, race number holder, computer mount, and pedals weighs in at 7.32 kilograms.

The stem and handlebars are not the latest Bontrager models. Mads wants to use exactly the same handlebar set up he used in the World Championships – never change a winning system, right?
